For an envoy, the classical qualities are loyal affection, birth in a lineage fitted for ministry, and the character rulers desire. A modern representative should be chosen for demonstrated care, competence, and integrity—not ancestry.

Parimelazhagar lists three marks of the classical envoy: affection for one's own circle, birth in a family fitted for ministerial duty, and qualities desired by rulers. The hereditary court ideal is historical; modern equal selection should rely on demonstrated care, competence, and integrity.
