Two verses in this chapter are about the same thing and they are the reason to read it. Verse 447 asks who has the power to ruin somebody whose allies are willing to rebuke wrongdoing to their face. Verse 448 answers from the other side: a ruler with nobody able to rebuke them will perish even when no enemy is seeking it.
That is a claim about structure, not about humility. The people around you who will say the difficult thing are described as a form of protection — and their absence as a form of exposure that no amount of strength compensates for. Verse 445 puts it plainly: counsellors are a ruler's eyes, so the choosing of them has to be examined.
Verse 444 is the one to carry into any working life: living guided by companions greater than yourself is foremost among all forms of strength. And 450 states the cost of getting it wrong — abandoning the company of the good does ten times the harm that making many enemies does.
